The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light rain and thundershowers in Dhaka and its surrounding areas today.
In its weather bulletin issued on Wednesday (5 August) for the six-hour period from 7:00 am, the department said the sky may remain partly cloudy to cloudy, with light rain and thunderstorms likely at places.
The forecast also said south to south-easterly winds may blow at speeds of 10 to 15 km/h, while daytime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
According to the BMD, the temperature in Dhaka was 28 degrees Celsius at 6:00 am on Wednesday, with relative humidity recorded at 91 per cent. The capital also received 3 mm of rainfall over the past 24 hours.
