Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has spoken over the phone with Omar Bin Hadi, brother of Inquilab Mancha spokesperson and potential independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency Sharif Osman Hadi, assuring the government’s highest level of support for his treatment.

According to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing, the conversation took place around 9:00pm, during which Prof Yunus conveyed that the Council of Advisers was “deeply concerned and saddened” by the attack on Hadi.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Prof Yunus told Omar Bin Hadi, “I have held an emergency meeting with several advisers and officials from the police and security agencies. Clear instructions have been issued to arrest those involved in the attack as quickly as possible.”

He said the government would cover all medical expenses for Hadi and ensure he receives the best possible treatment.

“Considering his condition, we will arrange whatever care is necessary whether at home or abroad,” the Chief Adviser added.

Prof Yunus expressed heartfelt concern for Hadi’s wellbeing, saying, “Osman Hadi is very dear to all of us. We wish him a speedy recovery and are praying for him. We hope he will return to us soon.”

Earlier in the afternoon, Hadi was shot in the capital’s Bijoynagar area. He was rushed to DMCH, where he was placed on life support, according to the hospital director’s office.
