Shaun Tait has stepped down as Bangladesh’s pace-bowling coach, ending a tenure that saw him play a key role in the development of the country’s fast-bowling resources.
“Yes. I have stepped down,” the former Australia speedster told Daily Sun on Thursday, confirming reports that he would not continue in the role.
Tait joined Bangladesh’s coaching staff in May 2025 under a contract that was due to run until the 2027 Cricket World Cup.
During his stint, he earned praise for his work with the pace unit, particularly young fast bowler Nahid Rana, who has emerged as one of the country’s brightest prospects.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket Board has yet to announce a replacement, though former national pacer Talha Jubair is reportedly in line for the role on an interim basis.
