Outgoing Bangladesh fast bowling coach Shaun Tait expressed pride at the performance of his disciples during his one-year tenure after stepping down from his role. The 43-year old quit his post citing family reasons.
Amid talks with Bangladesh Cricket Board, the former legendary Australian speedster had shared his willingness to continue on a short-term basis, but it was ultimately agreed that stepping down from the position was the most appropriate course of action.
Tait made significant contributions to the Tigers’ pace bowling department, especially young tearaway Nahid Rana, and was part of a successful period for Bangladesh, with the side producing a number of notable performances and results during his time with the team.
In his farewell message, the former right-arm fast bowler said, “It has been a privilege to work with the Bangladesh national team and to be part of a talented and committed group of players and support staff. This was not an easy decision, and I sincerely appreciate the understanding and support shown by the BCB throughout our discussions. I am proud of what the pace bowlers have achieved and I believe they have an exciting future ahead. I wish the team every success going forward.”
